Intense repair work ahead at a hydroelectric facility in Laos

We are proud to announce the signing of a new contract to repair a concrete siphon at a hydroelectric facility in Laos. The siphon is a structure of the downstream channel of the hydroelectric installation that passes under a river.

The repair solution proposed by Freyssinet is mainly based on the use of shotcrete (130 m3 in total), specially designed to resist the aggression of the particularly acid water. Our intervention will be carried out over a short shutdown period of 3 months, starting in November, as the canal must of course be dewatered for the work.

The mobilization of the teams is underway (160 people at peak time!), under the guidance of Freyssinet Major Projects and Freyssinet Vietnam.
